The 2023 ASHEcon Conference will be held in St. Louis, Missouri at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel from Sunday, June 11th-14, 2023.
In addition to over 190 scientific sessions containing 584 papers, plus 210 posters, this year’s conference will include both numerous new and returning elements, including:
- A pre-conference on scientific communication
- A featured partnership with Tradeoffs, including a pre-conference podcast episode, an opportunity to sign up for a 1:1 pitch session with Tradeoffs founder and executive editor Dan Gorenstein, and a lunch-time session with Dan for media training 101 designed to help you pitch your work to the press (including Dan grilling Mike Chernew in a mock interview)
- An enhanced diversity scholar program, directed by Samuel Mann
- Speed networking breakfasts with program chairs
- A session on fundraising from foundations organized by Arnold Ventures
- An optional outing to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game
- A mentoring session
- Sessions on careers in health economics
- An opening plenary on The U.S. Constitution and Health Equity, with Sam Halabi (constitutional/comparative law), Kitt Carpenter (LGBTQ health care), Caitlin Myers (reproductive health care), and Marcella Alsan (moderator).
- A lunch plenary on Advancing Local Health Equity, Academic and Community Engagement: A Perspective from St. Louis with Maxine Clark (founder of Build-A-Bear, current Director of Delmar DivINe), Darrell Gaskin, and others to be announced.
