The call for abstracts for the Sixth Biennial Conference of the American Society of Health Economics (ASHEcon) to be held at the University of Pennsylvania June 12-15, 2016 is now open!
The members of the Planning Committee have been working hard to ensure another terrific conference. The theme this year is “New Frontiers in Health Policy and Health Care.” Organized sessions and individual abstracts will be accepted for consideration by the Scientific Committee now through December 1, 2015. As in the past, if an organized session is rejected, the papers included in that session will be considered as individual abstract submissions; abstracts rejected for oral presentation will be considered for poster presentation. Decisions on acceptance of papers will be announced no later than February 1, 2016. Here is the website to submit:
Please note that, as in the past, you need to be a current member of ASHEcon to avoid paying a submission fee when you submit your abstract. The 2-year membership rate is $150.00, which now comes with a two-year print and electronic subscription to our new journal, the American Journal of Health Economics. Membership also entitles you to a significantly reduced conference registration rate. To check your membership status and renew if necessary, please visit:
Also, remember that students qualify for discounted membership and registration fees if they attend an institution that is a current University member ($600 per year). We invite you to consider the benefits of an institutional membership. In addition to the University membership, we offer an Organization membership for non-academic institutions. For $1200 per year, Organization members enjoy free space at our biennial meeting, half off advertising, and other benefits. For our most dedicated supporters, we offer a Sustaining membership. For $3000 per year in addition to the benefits of a University and an Organization membership, Sustaining members receive access to our membership directory, free advertising, and free booth space at our biennial meeting, among many other benefits. If your institution has not yet joined ASHEcon, we urge you to join or to lobby your director or department head to do so!
