The Board of ASHEcon is deeply saddened by the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many other people of color by police officers. We condemn those acts in the strongest possible terms and acknowledge the pain of our colleagues and students — especially our black colleagues and students — who must once again confront violent racism in our society.  ASHEcon’s board endorses the AEA’s June 5th statement, which calls for economists to examine our own policies and practices in order to strive to create a culture of inclusion.  We will work towards this goal in the days, months, and years ahead.  Please see: https://www.aeaweb.org/news/member-announcements-june-5-2020.
