We are also building innovative interdisciplinary graduate programs within the College of Public Health and other Temple schools and colleges. Over the next 4 years, the College will expand its footprint with a new building and add 50 faculty.

Dr. William (Bill) Aaronson has joined the College as the Founding Chair of the newly established Department of Health Services Administration and Policy. Dr. Aaronson, a prominent leader of healthcare management education and a health services and health economics researcher, is bringing his vision to bear to build a superlative health services and health economics faculty to conduct cutting edge research in healthcare management and policy and train the next generation of healthcare management leaders, policymakers, educators and researchers who will address critical issues important to improving the public’s health delivery system.

The Department will hire up to 8 tenure-eligible and tenure-track faculty over the next 2 years. Hiring this year will focus on senior faculty members with proven track records of funding and published research in health services and health economics. Applicants must hold a PhD in a related discipline, qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor and tenure upon appointment. Cluster faculty hiring of research teams comprised of senior and junior faculty is encouraged.

We seek senior researchers in health economics, health services, and health policy with expertise in:

The Department of Health Services Administration and Policy conducts research and provides education and training in the organization and delivery of health services in public and private institutions and in community-based settings. The department is focused on improving and enhancing capacity to improve community health through research on the role and effectiveness of health services, health informatics, and public health with a special focus on reducing and eliminating disparities in an urban setting.

The Department includes a Division of Health Information Management and there are currently 13 full- time faculty members actively engaged in research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities with more than 200 students. All of the department’s current academic programs are fully accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) and the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM). It is anticipated that a graduate program in health services administration will be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).
