The Section of General Internal Medicine in the Boston University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a new/recent PhD in health services research, health economics, epidemiology or other quantitative discipline, with demonstrated research interest and expertise in the impact of policy changes on disparities in healthcare access, utilization and outcomes. Based in the Health/care Disparities Research Program of the Section of General Internal Medicine, the position offers excellent opportunities to advance research skills through mentored and collaborative participation in several ongoing NIH-funded projects on a range of national and state policy changes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in health services research for various research projects and consult with team members on study design, data analysis, and interpretation of results
- Participate in ongoing federally-funded research projects on the impact of policy on disparities in health care utilization and outcomes
- Lead mutually-identified components of currently funded studies through all phases of research
- Develop an independent portfolio of inquiry demonstrated through peer-reviewed journal publications and advance toward independent funding
