Tenure Track Associate or Full Professor
The University of Colorado Cancer Center and Colorado School of Public Health (CSPH) invite applications from distinguished investigators for a senior-level faculty position in the CSPH and a senior-level leadership position in the Cancer Center to lead cancer prevention and control activities. This appointment is accompanied by an endowed chair and significant financial resources to stimulate and sustain a robust program of research in Cancer Prevention and Control.
The Program Leader (PL) for Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) is expected to provide scientific leadership in the development of prevention and control efforts within the program and across the Cancer Center. The PL will lead the development of a nationally-recognized innovative research portfolio that addresses the full spectrum of prevention and control research. Within the Cancer Center, the PL will provide leadership and direction for all scientific, policy, and programmatic issues relating to the program.
Applicants must possess a PhD, MD, or other professional degree related to cancer epidemiology, cancer population sciences, health services research, policy and/or behavioral sciences. Applicants should have peer-reviewed grant /contract funding, and substantial publications in high impact professional journals. Preference will be given to applicants with proven leadership.
The University of Colorado Cancer Center is an NCI-designated consortium comprehensive cancer center with over 300 members engaged in collaborative cancer research at its six member institutions: University of Colorado Denver; University of Colorado Boulder; Colorado State University; University of Colorado Hospital; Children’s Hospital Colorado, and the Denver Veterans Administration. In addition, the Cancer Center has additional members located at Kaiser Permanente Colorado, Denver Heath, and National Jewish Health. Members conduct research in epidemiology, chemoprevention, genetics, survivorship, health services, and behavioral science. The Cancer Center is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). The CSPH was established in 2008 as a collaborative school that builds on the strengths of the University of Colorado Denver, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a recently constructed $4 billion state-of-the-art academic medical complex, including clinical, research, and teaching facilities that support the Schools of Public Health, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, and the Graduate School.
