SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) seeks a Health Economist/Senior Researcher to join our team. We conduct health economics and policy research related to primary care using some of the largest healthcare datasets in the United States. The position will work closely with the ABFM leadership team and serve as a research consultant and mentor to Center- and Lexington-based research team members.
The position will perform complex statistical analyses of large-scale health care datasets, collaborate with interdisciplinary investigators, lead research teams, and write proposals and publications for peer review. The position comes with an unusual period of protected time (e.g. 4 years) with the expectation to establish independent research funding and the opportunity for a visiting affiliation at a collaborating academic center (e.g. as a visiting fellow, post-doctoral scholar, or faculty member).
REQUIREMENTS:
• The ideal candidate will hold a PhD degree in economics, health services research, health policy, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant field experience.
• Candidates should have excellent applied statistical and econometric skills and familiarity managing large-scale data.
• Post-doctorate experience and experience with statistical learning methods (MI/AI) in preferred.
• Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, have participated in presenting research findings and writing for peer-review publication, and have knowledge of SAS and/or STATA, R, Python.
