The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy invites nominations and applications for a full-time or part-time, nine month tenure track position (or twelve month research, non-tenure track faculty position), at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in one of the following areas: pharmacy administration, pharmacoepidemiology, biostatistics, public health, health communication, pharmacoeconomics, or a closely related field. Ideally, the candidate will have also earned a degree in one of the health professions, preferably pharmacy. Preference will be given to applicants with strong statistical and methodological skills and with research and teaching interests consistent with that of the Department.
Founded in 1859, our College is the fifth oldest college of pharmacy in the United States and the oldest entity within the University of Illinois system. Our education and research programs are ranked among the top colleges of pharmacy in the country. The College of Pharmacy is one of six health professions colleges on the UIC campus, one of only five academic health centers in the U.S. with all of the health professions. The Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy is one of the largest of its kind in the country. Faculty in the Department have strong research programs and work collaboratively with experts in the UIC Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, and the School of Public Health, other academic institutions in Chicago, area pharmaceutical companies and health provider organizations, government agencies and others. Many departmental faculty are also associated with the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research, a highly successful research unit in the College.
The selected candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a strong extramurally funded research program, and he or she will be required to teach professional (PharmD) and graduate courses and mentor/advise PharmD and PhD students. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin.
