Assistant Professor of Health Management and Policy, Drexel University Dornsfie School of Public Health

The Department of Health Management and Policy in the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to expand its program of health economics and health services research related to public health systems. Salary commensurate with experience. The position will be available starting on or after July 1, 2016.

Drexel (www.drexel.edu) is the 16th largest private university in the nation with more than 8,000 employees and 22,000 students. It is made up of 10 colleges and 3 schools offering professional degrees in engineering, architecture, media arts design, business, law, medicine, nursing, and public health, among others. The Department of Health Management and Policy offers an MPH degree and a DrPH degree in Health Policy and Social Justice. The Department is also home to four research and practice centers: Center for Population Health & Community Impact, Center for Hunger Free Communities, Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice, and Public Health Training Center.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be emerging scholars with formal training in health economics who have an interest in the translation of research to public policy and public health practice. Candidates should have a record of research, publications, and/or teaching experience in: health economics; econometrics and research methods; health policy analysis; implementation science; and/or systems analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate in developing research initiatives jointly with other faculty in the department and throughout the School of Public Health. He or she will possess:

  • Doctoral degree (ABD’s will be considered on an exception basis) in public health, economics, health policy, political science, public policy or a related area
  • Experience in teaching and interest in supervising graduate and professional students in health economics and health policy
  • Record of research and publications that is indicative of continued future scholarly achievement
  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary work.
