The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking candidates for the position of assistant or associate professor to teach and conduct research in public health policy, health care policy, and/or health care management. This is a tenure-ladder position, with the academic rank to be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and productivity.
We are seeking candidates with academic interests across a broad range of potential areas of interest to the Department, including public health policy, health care policy, health care management, health care quality, health economics, health equity, and politics. Candidates will be expected to undertake empirical research in one or more of these areas using rigorous qualitative and quantitative methods. Candidates should demonstrate the experience and skills necessary to lead a program of research and develop and teach one or more courses. Candidates should also be able to work collaboratively with other faculty, as well as mentor a diverse population of masters and doctoral students. The Department is committed to creating a climate of inclusion and belonging for students, faculty, and staff.
Candidates should hold a terminal degree (PhD or MD, or the equivalent) in public health, health policy, health care management, health economics, or a closely related field. Other highly desired qualifications include advanced methodological training, skill in translating and disseminating research evidence to a broad audience, evidence of ability to manage multisite projects, and the potential to collaborate with professionals in other disciplines.
