The Department of Health Management and Policy in the Drexel University School of Public Health seeks applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor position to expand its program of health services research and economics related to health policy. This is a tenure-track position with faculty rank and salary commensurate with experience. The position will be available starting on or after July 1, 2014.

Drexel is made up of 10 colleges and 3 schools offering professional degrees in engineering, architecture, media arts design, business, law, medicine, nursing, and public health, among others. The Department of Health Management and Policy offers an MPH degree and a DrPH degree in Health Policy and Social Justice. The Department is also home to three research and practice centers: the Center for Hunger Free Communities, Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice, and Public Health Training Center.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be emerging scholars with interest in the translation of research to public policy and public health practice. Candidates should have a record of research, publications, and/or teaching experience in: health services and outcomes research; health insurance claims and other administrative data analysis; economic evaluation research; health policy analysis; and/or health systems analysis related to health care access for the poor and underserved. The successful candidate will collaborate in developing research initiatives jointly with faculty from throughout the School of Public Health as it builds a new center for urban health. The successful candidate will possess:
- Doctoral degree (note, ABD’s will be considered on an exception basis at the Assistant Professor level)
- Experience in teaching and/or interest in supervising doctoral students in health policy
- Record of research and publications that is indicative of continued future scholarly achievement and a successful tenure track
- At the Associate Professor level, five years of academic experience at the assistant or associate professor level
