Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Position in Pharmaceutical Evaluation & Policy University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month, tenure track faculty position in the Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluation & Policy (PEP). This position is available immediately, and the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications will determine the appointment as an assistant, associate, or full professor.

The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to develop a new or integrate an existing extramurally funded independent research program with PEP, teach in the graduate and professional programs, provide graduate student mentorship, and provide service to the college, university, and profession.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a health-related field focused on economics, epidemiology, health outcomes, health policy, biostatistics, informatics, or implementation science.

The division works closely with state, national, and international leaders to help guide policy evaluation and development and to conduct rigorous original research evaluating pharmaceuticals and pharmacy services. In addition, the division houses a graduate program focused on analytic skills that have applications in pharmacoeconomics, comparative effectiveness research, epidemiology, patient-reported outcomes, and health policy analysis. This graduate program shares some curricular competencies with graduate programs in pharmacy administration, social and administrative sciences, pharmacy care administration, pharmaceutical outcomes and policy, and health services research, emphasizing evaluation of pharmaceutical effectiveness, value, and safety.

UAMS is an academic health science campus with colleges of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, public health, health professions, and a graduate school. The UAMS main campus is in Little Rock, and a regional campus is in Fayetteville, the home of the University of Arkansas. UAMS prides itself on clinical excellence, scientific translation, and practical applicability. Faculty enjoy close collaboration among colleagues from seven research institutes, eight regional clinical centers, the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Faculty research interests align via the Translational Research Institute, founded in 2011 following a 2009 Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). UAMS Bioventures facilitates the commercialization of inventions and services developed by UAMS researchers.
