The ASHEcon Job Market is designed to bring job seekers together to meet with representatives from companies and academia in an informal “meet-and-greet” atmosphere. With over 300 students and early career professionals, you are sure to find a perfect fit for your team. Employers will be prepared to discuss opportunities for internships/fellowships, postdoctoral appointments and part-time/full-time jobs at their organizations. All institutions with an interest in hiring are welcome to participate in the 2020 ASHEcon Job Market. A current open position is not required to participate. The informal environment of the Job Market is designed to be flexible to fit the meeting schedule of attendees and offers the opportunity to meet with employers to learn more about their institutions, as well as currently open or future positions. This is a great opportunity to get a sneak peak at students that will be on the job market in the coming year.
The Job Market will be open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday, June 8th – Tuesday, June 9th and Wednesday, June 10th from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Institutions are asked to facilitate short, informal meetings between employers and job seekers. Job seekers will approach your table to learn more about your institution and to express their interest in your available position. This time is not meant for one-on-one interviews or extended discussions with a single candidate. Employers are encouraged to speak with job seekers for a few minutes each to answer questions about their position(s) and their expectations of applicants.
Until April 30th, 2020, employers will be able to register for a table at the Employment Fair. All institutions with an interest in hiring are welcome to participate in the 2020 Job Market. An open position(s) is not required to participate. Once an employer submits their registration form and , the company will be added to the Job Market website as a participating employer.
Is there a fee?
Yes. There is a fee to reserve a booth at the Job Market. All individuals representing your organization must register and must wear their badge in order to enter the Job Market hall.
Up to two additional Job Market Only registration may be purchased for $150. Please note a Job Market Only registration does not allow access to conference sessions and events.
Will there be Wi-Fi and/or electricity?
There will be Wi-Fi in the hall. However, power will not be provided. Power will have to be purchased through the AV provider.
How many people can be at the booth?
You can have up to two representatives from your institution at your booth. Booths will be 10’x10’ with one six-foot table and chairs.
Does a representative of the institution have to be present at the Job Market the entire time?
We strongly suggest you have at least one individual present at your booth at all times to interact with potential job candidates. Candidates will be coming and going throughout the event and look forward to meeting with the employers that have registered for the Market.
If you must leave your booth empty at any time, we suggest you leave materials regarding your institution and available position(s).
What can I bring to the Job Market?
You may bring any materials you wish to promote your institution at the Job Market, including, but not limited to, tablecloths, posters, pamphlets, displays, etc. As a reminder, there will be Wi-Fi in the area. However, power will not be provided. Power can be purchased through the AV provider.

Any individual, whether currently on the job market or a future candidate, is invited to attend the Job Market. There is no fee beyond meeting registration to gain entrance to the Job Market. In order to give employers an idea of the number of interested candidates, individuals will be asked to indicate their interest during the registration process. Your meeting badge will be required to enter the hall.

How do I meet individually with an employer?
Job candidates are invited to the visit the Job Market during the Market hours. If an employer wants to schedule an interview with you, they’ll reach out to you directly.
What if I cannot make it to the conference?
If you are unable to attend the conference, you should reach out directly to the employer to let them know that you are interested in securing a position with them position.
